Adin Ross reveals KICK wants to “steal” Twitch’s best viewers with big money offer

Adin Ross has revealed that KICK is looking to offer big money to Twitch ‘clippers’ to spread KICK highlights around more.

Over the years, there have been a number of contenders to Twitch’s throne. The likes of Facebook Gaming, Mixer, and YouTube have all tried and, ultimately, failed to dethrone the Amazon-owned platform.

KICK is the newest challenger and has already seen some success. The Stake-backed platformhas signed a number of Twitch’s biggest names to lucrative contracts and has implemented a number of features that are easily recognizable to users and streamers alike. So much so, thatTwitch CEO Dan Clancy outright accused them of copying.

One of those features is, of course, clips. KICK streamers are able to take a short highlight from their broadcast and create a clip in a similar way to how you may on Twitch.

That feature has been around for a little while, but according toAdin Ross, KICK is now looking to reward some of the biggest users.

“I spoke to Eddie (Craven). Eddie said ‘Adin, how do we get more clippers to fuck with KICK?’ I said to Eddie ‘Let’s steal the clippers from Twitch’,” Ross said on his April 28 stream, revealing that the KICK CEO wants to offer them double.

“If you get clip shit for streamers on KICK, you’re going to get paid double pretty much. My clippers this month made, what, 100k? If you’re a streamer on KICK and you pay clippers, it’s going to get paid for.”

As Adin notes, big streamers already have recognized ‘clippers’ who work for them in making highlights so that they can upload those to YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. KICK would cover the cost of those so that streamers no longer have to pay them.

If KICK were able to do so, it would certainly help get their highlights spread a bit further. Yet, we’ll just have to wait and see.
