Black Ops 7 won’t have jetpacks but there’s more movement upgrades to come

Following plenty of rumors, it’s been confirmed that Black Ops 7 won’t feature jetpacks or wallrunning. However, there are still some movement upgrades coming in CoD 2025.

AlthoughBlack Ops 7was announced at theXbox Games Showcase, aside from a few campaign details, we have precious little official information about it. We know it’s a sequel to Black Ops 2, will feature brand-new maps, and has aZombies mode, but that’s pretty much it.

However, there have been plenty of leaks and rumors in the last few months about what the nextCall of Dutywill look like. One of the most well-known claims is that it would feature wall running and jetpacks, after thefeatures were discovered in the files for Black Ops 6.

But the devs have quickly shut this down, confirming that neither will return.

Speaking on the June 17 edition of COD POD, Activision’s Senior Director of Communications, Stephanie Snowdon, responded to a fan question about the inclusion of jetpacks in Black Ops 7, clarifying:

“I can confirm no wall running, no jetpacks. But it will feature an evolution of omnimovement.”

So, BO7 will be yet another boots-on-the-ground experience, like every Call of Duty since Infinite Warfare in 2016. But this “evolution” of the omnimovement system introduced in Black Ops 6 caught the eyes of fans, as Snowden didn’t elaborate on what it meant.

According to trusted leaker ‘TheGhostOfHope,’ this will be a “wall jumping” feature, which was also spotted in the BO6 multiplayer files. This would be a brand-new addition to the series, allowing you to push away from walls, presumably with a second press of the jump button.

So, while you won’t be able to stick to walls and cross large distances, you’ll likely be able to bounce off them to quickly navigate corners or reach new vantage points.

The devs have confirmed that we’ll get a closer look at Black Ops 7 later in the summer, so we shouldn’t have to wait too long to see it in action. In the meantime, there’s plenty to look forward to in Black Ops 6, withSeason 4 Reloadedon the horizon.
