FairyTail’s highly awaited sequel,100 Years Quest,is finally drawing closer to its release date and has now unveiled its first full trailer and the artists behind its opening and ending themes. Hiro Mashima’s hit shōnen series is set to return after five long years,reviving one of the most iconic anime of the 2010s, and its newest trailer finally gives fans a clue on what to expect from the sequel.

Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest’s official anime website has finally revealed the series' first full trailer, including new information on its opening and ending themes. The anime isexpected to release in Japan on August 25, 2025, and will feature an opening theme song performed by Da-ice called “Story” which is featured in the trailer.

Fans may recognize Da-iCE from their most recent work “DREAMIN' ON” featured as one of the opening themes toOne Piece’s Wano Arc. As for the ending theme song,Fairy Tail: 100 Years Questhas brought on board the Japanese girl group Boku ga Mitakatta Aozora, who will be performing the ending theme called “Tomo yo, Koko de Sayonara da” or “My Friend, This is Goodbye, Here”.

Fairy Tail’s Sequel is Set to Revive an Old Fandom Once More

Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest’s newest trailer features appearances from the franchise’s most iconic characters that fans have come to know and love for decades. The trailer also includes a snippet of the series' iconic soundtrack composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, evoking a strong sense of nostalgia.

Both Da-iCE and Boku ga Mitakatta Aozora have also expressed their excitement at getting to work on the theme songs for the anime. Da-iCE member Wada Hayate has described “Story” as a “fast-paced, energetic, and hot song” while Boku ga Mitakatta Aozora’s Hayasaki Suzuki described the ending theme song as “a positive song about wanting to become stronger together” which could not be more fitting forFairy Tail.

Based on Hiro Mashima’s manga of the same name,Fairy Tail: 100 Years Questis set one year after the ending ofFairy Tailand will see the return of Natsu, Lucy, and friends as they embark on a new century-long quest on a new continent. Studio J.C. Staff, who is responsible for the production of the sequel, has also brought back the original voice cast, ensuring that fans will be transported back in time once again as Natsu and his fellow guild mates set out on this new adventure.
