Amouranth is one of several high-profile creators who have been victims of violent attacks in March 2025; on the night of March 2, she wasrobbed at gunpoint and beatenby several masked men who were after her cash and crypto wallet.
That same day,TwitchstarsValkyrae, Cinna andEmiruwerethreatened and chasedby a man while broadcasting live from Santa Monica Pier, Mere days later, Japanese streamer Airi Sato wasstabbed to death by an older manwho claimed that she owed him money.
These incidents have left female broadcastersterrified to stream outside(or even inside) their own homes… but some are hopeful that the FBI’s focus on swattings will bring an end to such behaviors.
Twitch themselves haveaddressed the situationas well, saying they’re “horrified” by the rise in such attacks and “are working to ensure that they’re being supported.”
