Next Update Will Arrive In June
The official release date for Version 2.3 was announced by HoYoverse during the livestream, held on the officialHonkai: Star Railchannel on YouTube. According to the developer,Honkai: Star Rail2.3 will arrive on June 19across all platforms on which the game is currently available. This release date follows the title’s six-week schedule for every update and seems to indicate that there were no delays to planning.
With a well-established release date and its contents presented in the special event, it is also unlikely that the next patch will be postponed.

Two New Characters Are Accompanied By Long-Awaited Reruns
As was previously revealed, Firefly and Jade are the two new characters arriving with Version 2.3.Firefly is a 5-star Fire unit that follows the Path of the Destruction, which makes her a DPS character. The Stellaron Hunter will be playable within her Sam suit, using brute firepower to deal damage to opponents, often at the expense of her own HP. She will specialize in applying Weakness against opponents and then exploiting that and, as suggested by the livestream, Firefly will work well with other characters that help with Weakness Break, such asRuan Mei inHonkai: Star Rail.
Curiously enough,Ruan Mei will be the first rerun character in Version 2.3 and will star in the Phase 1 banners alongside Firefly from June 19 to July 9. During this period, the 4-star characters Gallagher, Misha, and Xueyi will have increased drop rates from character banners. Firefly and Ruan Mei will also have their signature Light Cones (Whereabouts Should Dreams Rest and Past Self In Mirror, respectively) featured in the Light Cone banner until July 9. Firefly is expected to be a strong Fire DPS, while Ruan Mei is already established as the best support inHonkai: Star Rail.
In Phase 2 banners, which should run from July 9 to July 30 (if there are no delays to Version 2.4), Jade should be made available for the very first time.Jade is a 5-star Quantum character who follows the Path of the Erudition. The IPC’s Strategic Investment Department manager is a specialist in follow-up attacks. She also has the ability to buff allies, though they will see their HP drained for the buffs to take place. Jade is expected to be a reliable sub-DPS in team comps withHonkai: Star Rail’s follow-up attackmechanic at the forefront.
In Phase 2 banners,Jade will be accompanied by a rerun of Argenti. The 5-star Physical DPS character who follows the Path of the Erudition. At the moment, Argenti is considered one of the best Physical DPS units, especially when facing multiple enemies at once. Jade and Argenti’s signature Light Cones, Yet Hope Is Priceless and An Instant Before A Gaze, respectively, will be available in the Light Cone banner during Phase 2. The 4-star characters with increaseddrop rates inHonkai: Star Rail2.3’s Phase 2 character banners are Serval, Natasha, and Asta.
A new 4-star Light Cone called After The Charmony Fall, which is for the Path of the Erudition, will be added to the loot pool for all banners.

New Trailblaze Mission Will Take Players To A Penacony Airship
In addition to the new playable characters and the prospect of obtaining previous 5-star releases, Version 2.3 will also introduce a new Trailblaze Mission called “Farewell, Penacony.”This is expected to be the final main quest in the Penacony storyline and should tie up all the loose endsfollowing the climax of conflicts in the Version 2.2 quests. The new Trailblaze Mission will be set on a brand-new map called Radiant Feldspar, which is an airship that flies over Penacony inHonkai: Star Rail.
This quest will see the Nameless serving as witnesses to the events on Penacony as the Families therein try to resolve their issues and try to bring the Charmony Festival to fruition once and for all. In addition to that,it seems like Sparkle’s grand plan, which has been in the works for several patches, will finally come to some sort of conclusion. The trailer showcased during the Version 2.3 livestream showed not only the elusive character but also the buttons she distributed, which are expected to be connected to bombs.

Divergent Universe Makes Its Debut
One of the most notable aspects of Version 2.3 is the addition of theDivergent Universe inHonkai: Star Rail, a new game mode within the Simulated Universe.This new activity will be set on the Radiant Feldsparand will see more flexibility in using characters. Players will not be reliant on character downloads and the game mode will have a system that temporarily brings characters up to the maximum level cap alongside temporary Light Cones and Relics to help them be used, even if they haven’t yet been leveled.
Divergent Universe will have its own set of Curios, Blessings, and modifiers.
A new update to the Simulated Universe is also being implemented, as predicted by a few leaks. Now, players looking to farm Planar Ornaments do not have to go through complete runs of the Simulated Universe. Instead,they will farm Ornaments as if they were farming Relics in a Cavern of Corrosion, only facing the boss from that respected Simulated Universe. If players want to farm Firmament Frontline: Glamoth Ornaments, for instance, they will need to face a shorter challenge against World 8’s Yanqing.
Additionally, the Divergent Universe will see the addition of two new Ornament sets called Duran, Dynasty Of Running Wolves and Forge Of The Kalpagni Lantern. The new 5-star Light Cone Eternal Calculus is also being added to Herta’s Store, which can be acquired with Herta Bonds. Aside from the Divergent Universe,Honkai: Star Rail2.3 will also feature a new permanent game mode called Apocalyptic Shadow, which will put players against boss opponents – the first time this activity is cleared,players will get a free copy of Xueyi.
The permanent game modes Apocalyptic Shadow, Forgotten Hall, and Pure Fiction are also seeing an increase in the offered amount of Stellar Jade, from 720 to 800.
Origami Bird Clash is a new limited-time event in Version 2.3, as well as Stellar Shimmer. All these activities will have various rewards, including Stellar Jade and Tracks of Destiny.
