Summary
The Presentis a new time loop comedy fromHow to Be Singledirector Christian Ditter. Isla Fisher and Greg Kinnear play a couple who, to the dismay of their three children, are on the brink of divorce. Luckily for the kids, they discover a family heirloom grandfather clock that has the power to send them back in time. Although Isla Fisher and Greg Kinnear may not be the central figures inThe Present, they each have a number of fun comedies under their belt that can make for an (albeit often more adult) follow-up to the movie. Fisher is well-known for her major role in the 2005 comedyWedding Crashersand has even teased thatWedding Crashers 2could still happen nearly 20 years later. Her other comedy work includes a recurring role onArrested Developmentseasons 4 and 5 and even an episode ofCurb Your Enthusiasm.
Kinnear, also an accomplished dramatic actor, has steadily appeared in comedies since the 1990s. He plays one of thebest new characters inAnchorman 2, a key ensemble cast member inLittle Miss Sunshine,and, like Fisher, also appears inCurb Your Enthusiasm.
