MultiVersus Review: Back & Looking To Knock Out The Competition
MultiVersus is back with its full game launch, with many technical changes and updates that could help give it an edge against the competition.
How To Unlock Tom & Jerry
There are two ways to unlock Tom & Jerry inMultiVersus: Fighter Currency or Gleamium. Fighter Currency is a type of currency you can unlock through many methods.
You canacquire Fighter Currency by playing through Rifts, progressing your Fighter Mastery, or by completing Daily Challenges, which boasts Fighter Currency as the reward. On the other hand, Gleamium is the premium micro currency inMultiVersus, which costs real money to acquire, but this can be the fastest way to unlock Fighters in the game.

Completing Rifts at different difficulty levels is the best way to farm Fighter Currency inMultiVersus.
Once you have acquired enough Fighter Currency or Gleamium, you can enter the Store tab on theMultiVersusmain menu. Scroll down to the Fighter Store, below the Prestige Shop, where you canspend Prestige Points. Navigate to Tom & Jerry and click on the character to check out. Tom & Jerry cost either 3,000 Fighter Currency or 1,000 Gleamium. After the purchase, you will officially be able to play this character in all future matches.

All Tom & Jerry Moves
Tom & Jerry are a tag-team Mage duo inMultiVersus, meaning that this Fighter has plenty of projectiles alongside traditional melee attacks and specials.Tom is your primary Fighter, while Jerry is a support addition who controls many projectile abilities.
Although you’re able to lose Jerry throughout the fight, keeping Jerry around as he grants the “Cheesy Does It” buff is best. With this active, the pair gains a slight damage buff. Below are all the moves you need to master with this Fighter.

Air
Neutral Attack
(Volley!) Tom swings a tennis racket that deals damage and knockback but also reflects any projectiles
Same as the ground version.
Side Attack
(Mallet Time) Tom lets off a combination of three mallet swings
(Scratch Cat) Tom lunges forward with a claw swipe.
Up Attack
(Paddle-Paddle-Paddle) Tom raises a paddle above his head that strikes any enemy players. The longer it is charged, the more damage and paddles you can let loose
(Trash Can Band) Tom swings two trash can lids above his head.

Down Attack
(Feline Pounce) Tom lunges forward with a swiping attack that also breaks armor.
Neutral Special
(Slingshot Sharpshooter) - Tim fires Jerry as a projectile from a slingshot. If Tom & Jerry are separated, Tom will shoot a tennis ball at Jerry. You can increase the power of the tennis ball by hitting it with Tom’s neutral attack (Volley!) again.
Side Special
(Goin’ Fishin) - Tom casts a fish pole, which only reels back when the attack is released. Striking an opponent with the end of the lure deals massive damage.
Up Special
(Rocket Mouse) - Jerry is attached to a rocket and launched into the air. Tom steers Jerry and can strike opponents to deal large amounts of damage. If Tom & Jerry are separated, then Tom launches a rocket that goes toward Jerry.
Down Special
(Snap Trap) Tom places a mousetrap on the ground.
(Look Out Below!)Tom drops dynamite that blows up whenever it strikes an enemy or on its second bounce.
All Tom & Jerry Costumes
Like all other characters inMultiVersus, Tom & Jerry have several alternate appearances that players can unlock with Gleamium.Tom & Jerry has five total Variants: Baker Street, Vampire, Detectives, Pirates, and Tooniverse Tom & Jerry. Unlike other characters, Tom & Jerry currently do not have a Legendary skin, although this is likely to be added in future updates pastSeason 1 ofMultiVersus.
Unfortunately, there are only so many ways to earn Gleamium without paying. If you progress any Fighter Mastery to level 15, you will be rewarded with only a small amount of the premium micro currency.
To afford a Variant without paying real-life dollars, you must max out multiple characters to reach the amount. you may also check out the Prestige Store, which sometimes will carry variants, whether exclusive or not. These items can sometimes cost upwards of 100,000 Prestige Points, so stocking up is best.
All Tom & Jerry Perks
Tom & Jerry have three total Signature Perks. Alongside the Well-Rounded Perk that all characters can access, this Mage duo also has Fly Fisher and Dynamite Split. These Signature Perks empower the strongest part of Tom & Jerry’s kit, the projectiles.
Dynamite Split is currently the better option, as it creates more dynamites if you reflect it with Tom’s Neutral attack. Although Fly Fisher is good, it weakens the overall damage of the fishing pole, but it is made into a better ledge recovery move.
Compared to other characters, Tom & Jerry have relatively few weaknesses. Given their status as a Mage,Tom & Jerry typically take more damage per hit than other characters. Stronger Than Ever, Speed Force Assist, and Clear The Air are all great Team, Strong, and Standard Perks that can improve Tom & Jerry’s defenses and dodging ability. To combat other projectile-based characters, perfecting yourparry ability inMultiVersusis important.
Tom & Jerry Combat Tips
Tom & Jerry are easily one of the most unique characters inMultiVersus, given that they work in a pair. To utilize this character best, it is important to understand how these two work together and whenever they are separated. Although keeping Jerry attached to Tom gives a powerful damage buff, it is sometimes advantageous to trap opponents between the two. These are just a few of the best tips for using Tom & Jerry inMultiVersus.
Compared to other Mages, Tom & Jerry are relatively easy to learn. Whether in 1v1 or 2v2 game modes, this character shines with its ability to control the stage and lock down enemies in seemingly endless combo traps. Although learning the best possible combos will take some time, as with most Mage characters, this is still one of the best for either new or veteranMultiVersusplayers.
