The PlayStation 5 launched back in November 2020 and almost immediately skyrocketed in popularity with fans of the PS4.

Sony revamped the PS5 with thePS5 Proback in 2024, giving it more power and a new, smaller design in the process, but it’s left fans wondering when the next-generation console will arrive.
A new leak on Tuesday, April 15, revealed some more details about the PlayStation 6 as well as a potential portable version of the console.

“The PlayStation 6 console generation will include a standard console and a portable one, according to leaks,” said a post from notable leaker ShiinaBR.
Apparently, the PS6 will release in Late 2027 or early 2028 and will be accompanied by a portable version of the regular console. However, it will likely launch after the main version and be “less powerful than a PS6.”

It’s unknown what will power the alleged PS6 portable console, but if it’s less powerful than a PS5, it’s safe to say it’ll be around the same power as the Steam Deck.
