‘Not real’ plane woman baffled by American Airlines email 2 years after viral debacle

The viral passenger from an American Airlines flight who went on a rant claiming a fellow flyer ‘wasn’t real’ isn’t sure the company got the memo after she was banned from using them.

In July 2023, Tiffany Gomas took over social media afterbreaking down in a viral tiradeclaiming that one of the passengers on her flight “wasn’t real.”

Tiffany Gomas pokes fun at American Airlines for tracking her miles after infamous ban

On July 08, 2025 — just under two years after her rant went viral — Gomas posted a screenshot of an email she’d received from American Airlines alerting her that her frequent flyer miles were about to expire.

According to the email, she’d earned a whopping total of 25,385 miles, which will expire in July 2025. To prevent this, the airline said she’d be able to apply for a AAdvantage credit card… but clearly, there’s one big issue with this.

Commenters couldn’t help but laugh at the amusing situation, with one congratulating Gomas on her ability to find humor in her permanent ban after such a viral moment.

“Haha, thanks… what else can ya do?” she replied.

Gomas also says she was completely unaware that she even had miles left, claiming that AA had told her she’d lost all her miles along with her ban.

Honestly I have no clue- they told me I lost all my miles when I got banned, so even this was news to me. 😂😂😂

She also confirmed that she is only banned from flying with American Airlines, and is free to continue utilizing other services with TSA.

Still others urged her to find a way to send the miles to the Make a Wish Foundation — something Gomas seemed open to, saying it was her sorority’s charity of choice at University.

That was our charity for my sorority too, love this!

Gomas is still managing to find the bright side after going viral in 2023, which she called the most “horrifying” and“mortifying moment” of her lifein a podcastrevealing what she really sawon her infamous flight.
