Valorant could use TPM for anti-cheat, but not in the way you think

Windows 11 requiresTrusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, which has caused some issues for PC builders with hardware that’s a few years old. The implications for TPM may reach beyond Windows Hello and Bitlocker, however, with some game developers using it to enhance anti-cheating software. The news comes from the Anti-Cheat Police Department on Twitter, which gathers news (and a healthy dose of memes) on the latest anti-cheat advances in games. Users with Windows 11 installed have received an error message when launchingValorant, which says that the Vanguard anti-cheat software “requires TPM version 2....

HBO’s seriesThe Last of Ushas proven to be one of the most popular and well-crafted TV shows in recent memory, which has helped dispel the stigma towardvideo game adaptations. But naturally, many people armed with their keyboards have deconstructed the series and made heavy comparisons to the acclaimed video game it is based on. While some may prefer the game over the show, the TV series has arguably improved it in multiple aspects, including in terms of plot, characters, visuals, and overall mainstream appeal....

Wi-Fi vs. Ethernet: Has wireless killed wired?

As home networks have increased in popularity, so has the wireless router. The rise of Wi-Fi has also caused the downfall of wired networks (in homes, at least), and many consumers now see Ethernet cords as being rather old-fashioned – that is, if they see them at all. Some newer computer models, likeApple’s MacBook Air, don’t even have ports for Ethernet connections anymore. The blistering connection speeds offered by today’s Wi-Fi standards do make wired networks appear a bit of a relic, but appearances can deceive....
