Philippines makes a big statement with Vitaly arrest to deter nuisance streamers
Banned Kick streamer Vitaly won’t be deported from the Philippines and will be facing charges as the country cracks down on nuisance streamers.
Russian Kick streamerVitaly Zdorovetskiy was arrestedon April 3 after a series of controversial broadcasts.
Footage showed the creator confronting numerous people, joking about robbing them, singing Lady Gaga’s song ‘Paparazzi’ as security guards escorted him away, stealing an electric fan from a restaurant and bringing it to a hotel, and crashing a tricycle into a parked vehicle.
Unluckily for theKickstreamer, he won’t simply be deported. Rather, he’s going to face charges, and was even paraded in front of TV cameras as authorities made an announcement.

Vitaly is in the custody of the Philippines Bureau of Immigration, and he’ll be held in their facilities until his eventual trial.
“We will not deport him,” authorities said during a press conference. “He is accountable to the law. This is an example that we are already serious in our own country.”
Furthermore, Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said there would be “no special treatment” for controversial Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy,” adding that he was a flight risk.

This response was praised by analysts, with YouTuber Legal Mindset predicting that this will disincentivize future nuisance streamers. “Other nations take note, Philippines did it right,” hesaid.
According toABS-CBN, Vitaly showed “no remorse” after his arrest.
Investigators are also reportedly looking to identify Vitaly’s cameraman as they seek to hunt down the streamer’s crew.

Zdorovetskiy is facing three counts of unjust vexation in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act, two cases of theft and one charge of attempted theft.
Vitaly’s arrest comes as fellow nusiance streamer Johnny Somali is on trial in South Korea and is facing charges that could result in himbehind bars for 10 years.
