Steak ‘n Shake make big request to Elon Musk as billionaire praises menu change
Elon Musk complimented a big change made by Steak ‘n Shake, prompting a request from the franchise to the billionaire.
Steak ‘n Shake has been around since 1934, when the first location was opened in Normal, Illinois. With hundreds of restaurants operating in the US and Europe, the franchise continues to thrive.

Their claim to fame are their infamous Steakburgers and Milkshakes. Steak ‘n Shake also offers French Fries, which the chain formerly fried in seed oil.
Thoughseed oilsare primarily used in the restaurant business, they are known to cause inflammation in the body. Some examples of seed oils include canola, peanut, grapeseed and corn oil.

Knowing this, Steak ‘n Shake decided to switch their frying oil to beef tallow, a different form of oil rendered from beef fat.
“The only burger chain in America to switch to 100% Beef Tallow. No chemicals, no preservatives. Just pure quality! That’s called leadership,” Steak ‘n Shake tweeted on February 21.

Steak ‘n Shake has plans to only use beef tallow at all of their locations by March 1. As of right now, their restaurants in Texas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Florida have introduced the new frying method.
