T1 in danger of missing Worlds 2024 as top LCK orgs crush them
T1’s Worlds 2024 run is in peril, with them dropping the last game against DPlus KIA despite being heavily favored in the matchup. One more loss will see them missing the international.
The historic LCK org hasn’t had an easy path toWorlds 2024, and the squad didn’t look like their usual selves LCK Summer Playoffs. The team came into the event on a three-game win streak, defeating OK BRION, BNK FearX, and Kwangdong Freecs, but they bombed out with back-to-back losses.

In the series against HLE, T1 did not manage to put up much of a fight, as the squad onlymanaged 25 kills across all three gamesand didn’t even break into their opponent’s base.
T1 in general has been in a slump, whichhas caused much frustration for the team and its playersdue to its fanbase’s high expectations and their impressiveEsports World Cup win.

And now, after a crushing 2-3 loss to DPlus KIA, T1 is just one series away from missing Worlds 2024.
While DPlus KIA still has star mid laner Showmaker and a Worlds-winning top laner in Kingen, the rest of the team is fairly inexperienced. And, while Aiming’s got a great track record in terms of performance, jungler Lucid and support Moham are both relatively new players brought up from DK’s LCK CL roster.

Regardless, DPlus KIA came together at the last minute despite Moham coming on to the team in August. It’s great news forDK’s cobbled together roster, but a crushing blow for T1.

Now, T1 will be pitted against the winner of FearX vs KT to determine who will get the final spot at Worlds 2024. KT is favored in this matchup, and T1’s historic track record against KT has always been good. But KT also has one of the most stacked rosters in the LCK, and their win would be by no means guaranteed.
Even if T1 manage to qualify, there are a lot of questions that’ll be asked about their current form and how much of a run they’ll be able to make at Worlds 2024.
