WithThe Boysseason 4 arriving this week,Screen Rantinterviewed Kripke right after he announced that season 5 will be the show’s final one. When asked about whether season 5 will finally mark the time for Padalecki to show up, Kripke shared the following update:
I havebeen texting with Jared, I would love Jared to come in and do a guest spot on the show. Not just because it’s fun to bring Supernatural characters onto the show, but just because I love working with people I love and if I have an opportunity to bring family back and work with family, I’ll take it and I have a lot of actors from that show who have really become family.
Screen Rantalso asked Kripke whether he already hasThe Boyscharacter in mind for his formerSupernaturalactor. While Kripke doesn’t have a specific character set for Padalecki,The Boysshowrunner added that they are still very early in season 5, saying the following:
We’re very, very early in season five, soI don’t have a character in mind quite yet. But I’m aiming towards it and I’m just keeping in rough touch with him so that hopefully our schedules do line up

Whoever he plays, seeing Padalecki appear onThe Boyswould definitely be another massive payoff for theSupernaturalaudience, given Kripke’s involvement.
Given the amount ofDC/Marvel parodies that exist inThe Boysuniverse, there are plenty ofoptions for Padalecki if he shows up in season 5. Obviously, mostSupernaturalfans would likely love to see Padalecki play someone who could naturally be paired up with Ackles' Soldier Boy, bringing the former CW stars together on the same side. However, it would be more refreshing if they got to play in a very different dynamic.
Every Supes Confirmed For The Boys Season 4 So Far
The Boys season 4 is shaping up to be the most action-packed yet, with a wide variety of new and old supes to fill out the story and change the world.
IfThe Boysseason 5 really wanted to bring theSupernaturalstar, they could have Padalecki play one of the other Soldier Boys from the comic books. While Ackles' character is still around inThe Boysuniverse, having Padalecki play the modern version of Soldier Boy would be a fun twist. This way, they wouldshare the Soldier Boy title and also get to play rivalsafter having played on-screen brothers for almost two decades.
There is also thepossibility that Padalecki plays an original character not fromThe Boyscomics, as the writing team isn’t beholden to have to cast him in an established role. Whoever he plays, seeing Padalecki appear onThe Boyswould definitely be another massive payoff for theSupernaturalaudience, given Kripke’s involvement. Hopefully, asThe Boysseason 5 starts shooting, presumably later this year, Padalecki’s potential guest spot will ideally get finalized.
