Warzone leak is great news for players who love Verdansk
A Warzone leak revealed that Verdansk will feature another game mode other than the traditional battle royale experience.
Activision shocked fans at CoD Next in August 2024 by announcing that Warzone’s original map,Verdansk, will return in 2025.
Initially, rumors suggested that Black Ops 6 would launch with Verdansk as its primary battle royale environment. However, on June 27, aleaksuggested that the iconic map would launch in the middle of the title’s lifecycle instead.
That means the map will reportedly return inSeason 3, which, based on the current content schedule, will most likely start in early to mid-April. But besides a leaked release window, we don’t know much about the beloved map’s return.
Yet, the latest leak paints a clearer picture of what fans can expect.
Warzone reportedly set to add Resurgence to Verdansk
CoD leakerRealityrevealed that Resurgence will be on Verdansk. For just four days in June 2021, Activision introduced Resurgence Mini as a limited-time-game mode on a small section of Verdansk and featured 45 players.
Besides that brief appearance, we never saw Resurgence on Verdansk again. The closest we got was Superstore in 2024, which featured the iconic Atlas Superstore POI from the original Warzone map with a 28-player lobby.
It’s unclear if this upcoming version of Resurgence will be another small portion or include the entire map. For comparison, Verdansk is5,835,157m^2, which is the smallest traditional battle royale map.
Even that is significantly larger than every dedicated Resurgence map, as Fortunes Keep is the largest and only comes in at 240,790m^2.
It would be challenging for Resurgence to work on a map that big unless they drastically increased the player count, so there will likely be changes to the current map to accommodate the mode.
