A baby raccoon has become a trendsetter on TikTok after sparking a new pet trend on the app, with its original video having been viewed over 14 million times.
Originally posted in September 2023, the clip achieved virality on TikTok in March 2024 and spread to YouTube and Instagram in short order.

The video uses a spinning circle format camera, where araccoon named Gingeris lifted into the shot and moved as if it’s dancing along to the song in the background. The track is an EDM remix of the song ‘Pedro’ by Raffaella Carrà.
Over two million videos have been created using the song, and most of them include creators pulling off their own version of Pedro’s dance with their pets at home.

As the fad doesn’t have an official name, the hashtag “Pedro” has gained over 569,300 videos on TikTok. One dog, named Josephine, was one of the many pets who tried out the trend and managed to get over 145 million views onher video.
Similar to theJosh Hutchersontrend from 2023, Ginger the raccoon’s dancing clip has jumped from phone screens to become an online sensation on just about every platform out there.
One user even had their smartwatch display the dancing raccoon as a live wallpaper. TheirTikTok videogained 14 million views and 1.3 million likes since it was posted on April 12.
