Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrailis almost here, accompanying the game’s 7.0 patch. With this update, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game willshift the Warrior of Light and their allies' adventure to the western continent of Tural, where they will be asked to aid in a rite of succession to help determine the land’s next ruler.
Dawntrailwas sold for $39.99 but includes all ofFFXIV’s prior expansions:Heavensward,Stormblood,Shadowbringers, and the most recent story,Endwalker. There areother collector’s editions at varying priceswith more content, with a $59.99 Digital Collector’s Edition that includes the game and a handful of digital items, a $154.99 Collector’s Box, which doesn’t include the game but provides players with physical items such as figures, an updated world map, a notebook, and a pen case. There’s also the full Collector’s Edition for $214.99, which includes the game and all of the physical and digital items from the other versions.
These prices do not include the subscription fee needed to accessFFXIV.

When Does FFXIV Maintenance End For Dawntrail?
Servers Will Be Down For 48 Hours Before Early Access Begins
WhileDawntrail’s full launch is on Tuesday, July 2,those who pre-ordered the new expansion will be able to play it early on Friday, June 28.However, this comes after a period of maintenance in which the servers would have been down for 48 hours, which started on June 26. It’s worth noting that during this time, no players will be able to log in and play at all, regardless of whether they pre-orderedDawntrail.
While this may still be subject to change depending on how smoothly the update is rolled out, the planned times the servers will come online again on June 28 - as detailed on theFinal Fantasy XIVsite - are as follows:
The downtime may seem rather lengthy, but once the game comes back online, there will be plenty to see and do across the 3 new zones: Yak T’el, Urqopacha, and the newest hub, the golden city of Tuliyollal. AlongsideDawntrail’s aforementioned main questline, there areplenty of new trials, dungeons, field operations, a variety of raids, and an update to PvP.Two new DPS-type jobsare also coming to the game: the melee-based Viper and the ranged magical Pictomancer.
There will also be several quality-of-life improvements with the 7.0 patch, from a strategy board for players to plan duties and raids, increased furnishing limits, the option to have two dyes per gear piece, and the option to wear both glasses and headpieces at the same time. Fortunately, at the time of writing, the maintenance is well underway, meaning those who pre-ordered shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to dive intoFinal Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail’s new content should things go smoothly.
