Palworld Sakurajima Update: Release Date, New Pals & Game Modes

Here’s everything we know so far about Palworld’s massive Sakurajima update, including the release date, new pals, new faction, and new boss.

Palworld On PlayStation Makes Sense

Expanding An Already Massive Audience

GivenPalworld’s popularity, it stands to reason that PlayStation would want the game on its console, especially after the success it found on Xbox. In just a few days after its release into early access,Pocket Pair’s survival MMO managed to become one of the most-played games on both Steam and Xbox Game Pass, and while the player base has decreased in recent months, the game’s numbers still look strong. It may be too late to capitalize on that initial surge butPlayStation wouldn’t turn down an opportunityto offer its community access to one of 2024’s biggest hits.

That logic also applies to Pocket Pair who was initially taken aback byPalworld’s immediate popularity. The small indie studio has dedicated itself to supporting the game in a bid to retain its audience but it’s to be expected that many would drop off after the original hype died down and other games hit the marketing.A PlayStation port could be the shot in the arm the game needs, especially ahead of the release of its next major update.

Given the general excitement surroundingPalworld’s Sakurajima Update,it’s distinctly possible that Pocket Pair plans to simply Shadow Drop the port once the patch goes live on June 27. Whether that happens remains to be seen but the community is bristling for the next content that will be introduced in the update, including new Pals, weapons, and an original location. The highly-anticipatedPvP Arena mode will also feature prominently, providing users with yet another activity to complete with their private army of critters.
