Will Poulter reveals secret The Bear connection with Death of a Unicorn co-star Paul Rudd
Ahead of the release of A24’s Death of a Unicorn, Will Poulter has addressed the fan theories that he actually also starred alongside Paul Rudd once before inThe Bear.
In Death of a Unicorn (out April 4), Poulter and Rudd couldn’t be more different. As an employee to the wealthy Leopold family, Rudd’s Elliot is a much softer-spoken man than Poulter’s selfish Shepard.
And when the family decides to harvest a unicorn’s magical properties to make a fortune, the two characters soon come to blows.
Poulter and Rudd make a great on-screen duo (check out ourDeath of a Unicorn reviewfor more thoughts), but it’s not the first time the pair have worked together on the same project…technically.
Will Poulter addresses Paul Rudd The Bear rumors
Ever since The Bear first premiered, fans have speculated that Paul Rudd makes an uncredited cameo appearance as the arcade game in The Original Beef of Chicagoland. He speaks directly to Fak, and he even appears as himself in the form of a Paul Rudd cardboard cutout in Season 3.
Is this simply a homage to a great comedic actor, or a hint that we could be getting a real Paul Rudd cameo inSeason 4? Either way, Rudd’s involvement has never been confirmed.
When speaking to Dexerto ahead of Death of a Unicorn’s release, Poulter (who plays Chef Luca on the show) seemed to forget he was part of another on-screen universe with his co-star.
“Yes, so I am familiar with this,” he said. “There’s also a cardboard cutout of Paul Rudd on The Bear. That genuinely stumped me for a minute. I was like, ‘Am I? That would be great for me.'”

While he could neither confirm nor deny Rudd’s voice cameo, he did reveal that he’d sent Rudd a cheeky reminder that he was a part of The Bear.
“Actually, I’ve sent Paul a picture of me with him on set, in the sense that I’ve sent a picture of me with his carboard cutout from the set of The Bear, which I think gave him a chuckle,” Poulter said.
Death of a Unicorn is in cinemas from April 4.
